McLouth Happenings

By Beverly Muzzy - | Apr 10, 2012

Tonganoxie Pickers will meet at 7 p.m. Friday in the Tonganoxie Friends Church.  The public is welcome.

American Legion Riders Post No. 41 will hold its monthly meeting at 3 p.m. Sunday at Elle’s Diner on Highway 24/40 in Tonganoxie.

McLouth High School National Honor Society Students will be special guests of the McLouth Friendship Club. This is a wonderful opportunity to become acquainted with these outstanding and promising students. The covered dish luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Community Center. All adults over 50 are welcome. Please bring extra food to share so we’ll have plenty, and your table service.

McLouth’s Patriots Day will be held Saturday, April 21. The Children’s Parade will start at 11 a.m.; the Main Parade will start at 1 p.m. All veterans (those who have served and are currently serving) are invited to participate in the parade as individual entries, or ride on the Veterans Trolley. Board the trolley at 12:30 p.m. at the LJEC parking lot, north of town. Military memorabilia will be displayed in the room next to the bank. If you have any items you’d like displayed, please bring them at 9 a.m. Saturday. The display will be open until 1 p.m. (There will be someone with the display all day.) You may pick up your items anytime following the parade.

“G & G Next-To-New Furniture” will open in downtown McLouth Thursday.  The new business, featuring “Good Furniture at a Good Price,” located at 202 Union (beneath Dance Studio), is operated by Gina and Gerald Burbank. Hours: Thursday through Saturday from noon to 6 p.m.; Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
