Vehicle registration, driver’s license renewal unavailable for first week of May

The Leavenworth County Treasurer’s Office and its annex in Tonganoxie will be unable to offer vehicle-related services during the first week of May during a statewide switch to a new computer system.
The office will not process vehicle registrations or driver’s licenses from May 1 to May 7. People whose licenses or registrations expire in April or the first week of May should renew them by April 30.
The Kansas Department of Revenue will be installing a new record system that will replace three older systems, causing the shutdown.

Shovel your driveway and paths, check neighbors’ driveways and then grab all your closest little ones and find the biggest sledding hill. Snowmen also are a must. Snow days are a great time to catch up on missed shows and much-needed rest. I love snowdays, they haven’t changed one bit even as an adult, although I am sure not all working adults can say that, but I am happy I can. I was excited to see the snowmen and other snow sculptures throughout the Lawrence and Kansas City metro areas.
