School supplies drive ongoing in Tonganoxie, Basehor

Reece and Nichols is having a back-to-school fundraiser for families in need of assistance in the Tonganoxie and Basehor-Linwood school districts.
Donations — supplies or monetary — can be dropped off for Tonganoxie schools to the Reece and Nichols office at 200 West St. in Tonganoxie. Checks can be made to USD 464. For Basehor-Linwood schools, donations can be made at the Basehor Reece and Nichols office, 1106 N. 155th St. Checks can be made to BLAS (Basehor-Linwood Assistance Services).

What’s the best way to spend a snow day?
Shovel your driveway and paths, check neighbors’ driveways and then grab all your closest little ones and find the biggest sledding hill. Snowmen also are a must. Snow days are a great time to catch up on missed shows and much-needed rest. I love snowdays, they haven’t changed one bit even as an adult, although I am sure not all working adults can say that, but I am happy I can. I was excited to see the snowmen and other snow sculptures throughout the Lawrence and Kansas City metro areas.
