Pastor’s Corner

August 28, 2012

What is greater than God but more evil than the devil?

Stumped? Here are four clues:

  1. The poor have it.

  2. The rich need it.

  3. If you eat it, you will die.

  4. It’s more important than knowing Jesus Christ.

The answer is ‘nothing.’ Nothing is greater than God or more evil than the devil. The poor have nothing and the rich need nothing. If you eat nothing you will die and nothing is more important than Jesus Christ.

Jesus died on the cross and shed his blood so your sins could be forgiven. He died that so you might be free from the power of sin.

Have you ever taken the step of trusting him as your Lord and Savior? Read John 3 in your Bible and think about your eternal destiny today. The Bible also says “whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

If you’ve never taken that step of faith and trusted Him as your Lord and Savior, I invite you do so today. Nothing is more important than your eternal destiny.

— Mike Bronson is minister at West Haven Baptist Church.
