For the most part, the McLouth High boys put themselves in position to win Tuesday’s clash with Jefferson County North. As it turns out, though, a few fundamental breakdowns was all it took to put the Bulldogs on the wrong end of a close game.

The Chieftain Singers vocal group is a finalist to receive $5,000 for the Tonganoxie High School vocal music department through a local radio station and will need residents’ help in being the top group.

Several people from this area attended the funeral of Maxine Sparks on Monday, Nov. 23, at McLouth United Methodist Church. Maxine grew up in this area and graduated from Jarbalo High School.

My Christmas tree is full of old and very precious, hand-made decorations, most of them very dear ones made by my children as they grew up. Most of them are, of course, dated, then some have been made by my grandchildren.

Bob and Alfreda Ryan and Viola Edmonds went Saturday, Nov. 25, to Hoyt to visit their niece, Carol Parrett, and her family for a late Thanksgiving gathering. The group totaled about 15 relatives, some having traveled from Colorado, Wyoming and Topeka.
