Manna From Heaven to open pantry Saturday

The Manna From Heaven Food Pantry will be open 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. Saturday at the C&B Pentecostal Temple Church, 119 Sixth St. in Tonganoxie.
Any Leavenworth County residents in need are welcome. Anyone coming to the pantry should bring a photo identification to show proof of residency in Leavenworth County. Anyone attending should bring a sturdy box with which to collect food. Donations are accepted. Manna from Heaven is a member agency of Second Harvest Community Food Bank.

The food pantry generally is open the second Saturday of each month.

What’s the best way to spend a snow day?
Shovel your driveway and paths, check neighbors’ driveways and then grab all your closest little ones and find the biggest sledding hill. Snowmen also are a must. Snow days are a great time to catch up on missed shows and much-needed rest. I love snowdays, they haven’t changed one bit even as an adult, although I am sure not all working adults can say that, but I am happy I can. I was excited to see the snowmen and other snow sculptures throughout the Lawrence and Kansas City metro areas.
