Sharon Lynn and Evelyn Schwinn visited their brother Harold Steed on Jan. 5 at Golden Living in Edwardsville. Then they enjoyed lunch and shopping.
Peggy and Greg Gillaspie were visiting Evelyn Schwinn Jan. 8.
The Schwinn brothers Dan, John and Bill and Chuck Monahan attended a farm show Wednesday, Jan. 11 in Topeka.
Gertrude Chrisman of Springdale played host to a party at her home on Jan. 9. Those attending were Irma Fowler, Shirley Lobb, Myra McHenry, Pet Theroff, Janita Hurries, Ruby Harwood of McLouth and two ladies from Oskaloosa.
Gertrude Chrisman had Christmas dinner Dec. 25 at her home in Springdale. Those attending were two daughters, Valery, Jayce and Stine, and two grandchildren, Bret and Whitney.

What’s the best way to spend a snow day?
Shovel your driveway and paths, check neighbors’ driveways and then grab all your closest little ones and find the biggest sledding hill. Snowmen also are a must. Snow days are a great time to catch up on missed shows and much-needed rest. I love snowdays, they haven’t changed one bit even as an adult, although I am sure not all working adults can say that, but I am happy I can. I was excited to see the snowmen and other snow sculptures throughout the Lawrence and Kansas City metro areas.
