The annual one-room country school house reunion was held May 6 at the McLouth Community Center with 21 present. Those who attended are as follows — STANWOOD: Frances Seaver Sink, Gardner; Charlene Seaver Snell, Topeka; Darlene Seaver Overbaugh, Tonganoxie; Barbara Ambler Willits, Lawrence; Frank Shrimplin, Valley Falls; and Bob Ryan, McLouth. WOODSTOCK: Esther Roberson Eason, Tonganoxie. ROUND GROVE: Sylvia Tarr and Norma Tarr, both of Leavenworth; Zelma Tarr Sanders, McLouth, (attended both ROUND GROVE and BROWN schools). EUREKA: Virginia Moore Ambler, Bonner Springs. WILDHORSE: Margaret Heywood Smelser, Lloyd Smelser, Viola Jones Edmonds, Alfreda Jones Ryan, all of McLouth. Other guests were Glenda Snell Chessher and Debbie Snell Glotzbach, Topeka; John Sanders, McLouth; Martha Yonally West and Tim West, Lawrence; and George Sink, Gardner.
McLouth High School commencement will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Gold Gym.
McLouth Friendship Club’s covered dish luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 21, at the Community Center. All adults over 50 are welcome. Please bring food to share and your table service. The theme will focus on “honoring our mothers” and “remembering our graduations.” Please bring photos of your memories.
