The Tonganoxie High boys soccer game schedule for Oct. 9 at Maur Hill-Mount Academy has been rescheduled for Oct. 8 at home. The Chieftains now have three remaining home games, including Thursday against Bishop Ward and Oct. 18 against Leavenworth.

The Wiley family reunion basket dinner has been rescheduled for 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, in the Leavenworth County Fairgrounds’ 4-H building in Tonganoxie.

The eighth annual Kaw Valley Farm Tour is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and once again there will be a Tonganoxie farm featured.

The Kansas Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom invites all kindergarten through sixth-grade students in Kansas to participate in its 2013 postcard art contest. The theme for this year is “Kansas Farmers Help Feed The World,” which focuses on the impact agriculture in Kansas has on the entire world.

While Kansas is blessed with many resources, without question its people are the most valuable. While traveling from Colby to Leavenworth a couple weeks ago, the importance of people came into sharp focus once again.
