Jarbalo Jottings

Jarbalo United Methodist Women met Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the church. Marilyn Oxley opened the meeting and Peachez Joles gave a prayer. Six members answered roll call and reported 28 care calls. Plans for the chili-soup supper were finalized.

A thank-you note from the Cleavinger family was read. Peachez Joles read the story of the 23rd Psalm and served refreshments to members Marilyn Oxley, Frances Jeannin, Rosie Oelschlaeger, Faye Cleavinger and Thamar Barnett and guest Christine Black.

Jim and Brenda Phillips of Upper Peninsula, Mich., visited his aunt, Helen Lohman, for several days on their way to their winter home in Arizona.

Jarbalo High School alumni met Saturday evening at Jarbalo United Methodist Church. The group thanks the four officers who agreed to serve for another year. They are Helen Lohman, Ann Matthews, Joyce Terry and Joy Waters.

Jane Turner went with Cornerstone Family Worship Friday and Saturday to Wichita for a women’s conference. David Turner attended the meeting of the Santa Fe Trail Leather Artists Guild Saturday at Centropolis.

Gary and Aiden Oelschlaeger of Overland Park visited Orville and Rosie Oelschlaeger Sunday and helped winterize the house.
