Ed and Peggy Gillaspie left Thursday, Oct. 11, for Branson, Mo., for the fall festival. They returned Sunday, Oct. 14.

Liz Bennet and Tim Monroe were married on Oct. 11 at the Methodist Church in McLouth. On Oct. 12, they had a bonfire reception at their rural McLouth home. Relatives and friends attended. We wish them many years of happiness.

Evelyn Schwinn enjoyed lunch on Sunday, Oct. 14, after church with Bill, Brenda and Bret Schwinn at the Pullman Place Family Restaurant in Leavenworth. In the evening, they attended the Family Fun Night at Springdale Friends Church. There was a large crowd of members and friends. Games were played and snacks were enjoyed. At 5 p.m., the movie “October Baby” was shown. It was a very moving movie.

Harold Steed, brother of Sharon Lynn and Evelyn Schwinn, celebrated his 81st birthday Saturday, Oct. 13. He lives at Golden Living in Edwardsville. There will be a party in November to honor his birthday.

On Sunday, Oct. 14, the adult Sunday school class had a chicken noodle dinner after church at United Methodist Church in McLouth. Wayne and Anabel Knapp helped with the dinner.

Wayne and Anabel Knapp attended the hamburger fry at the Easton Methodist Church on Oct. 10. There was a very large crowd.

The farmers are working on trying to get the soybeans out.
