Regardless of the day and regardless of the opponent, the Tonganoxie High soccer team has developed a knack for pulling out close games on the road in 2012. The Chieftains played their first road game in nearly two weeks Wednesday at Piper, and the end result was more of the same.

Warrior seventh-graders defeat Monticello Trails in OT

The Tonganoxie Middle School seventh-grade football team scored a 12-6 win in overtime Tuesday against Monticello Trails. Mason Beack accounted for all the Warriors’ points, scoring on a pair of touchdown runs.

The McLouth High volleyball team suffered a pair of defeats Tuesday, dropping contests against Kansas City Christian and Leavenworth-Immaculata in Leavenworth.

Two Sisters Farm is the only commercial farm in the area specializing in hydroponics, or soilless growing, and their lettuce has been catching on around Lawrence and Johnson County since their first harvest this spring.
