McLouth Happenings

By Beverly Muzzy - | Dec 3, 2013

Naval Chief Mike Dungan received a warm welcome home from Afghanistan by members of American Legion, American Legion Riders and auxiliary of Tonganoxie Post 41, his wife, Shawlyn, daughter, Irelynn, and family and friends.

The homecoming took place Tuesday at Tonganoxie Friends Church. Legion members presented a “Welcome Home” flag covered with signatures and best wishes from folks in the community.

Mike is the grandson of Bob and Alfreda Ryan of McLouth and the son of Mike and Kathel Dungan of Perry.

McLouth’s community Christmas tree lighting festivities will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at City Park. Bring your own decorated tree (real or artificial). We’ll put them all in the park and have a wonderful “Festival of Trees.”

Enjoy free food, drinks and door prizes donated by local businesses and folks who want this to be a special occasion for our community. Join in the Christmas caroling. Santa Claus will arrive by fire truck. The tree will be lit at dark.
