McLouth Happenings

February 12, 2013

It was a beautiful day at the Methodist Dome (McLouth United Methodist Church) Feb. 3 when the McLouth and Tonganoxie teams united to fight hunger.

The McLouth team’s offense and defense shined throughout the Souper Bowl, not only shattering last year’s record, but running away with the Souper Bowl Championship. McLouth scored big by stacking 5,092 cans totaling 7,178 points, while Tonganoxie piled on 2,746 cans for a total of 4,184 points. That means an unbelievable win of totaling 7,838 cans delivered to food pantries in and around McLouth and Tonganoxie. Thanks to all you Souper Stars who helped us really shine. Also, we really thought it was ‘souper’ how the community joined in to help us tackle hunger.

American Legion Riders Post No. 41 will hold the monthly meeting at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mirth Café Too on U.S. Highway 24-40 in Tonganoxie.
