Gary Oelschlaeger of Blue Springs visited Orville and Rosie Oelschlaeger Friday. Fourth of July guests were Marilyn Oxley and Helen McBroom, both of Tonganoxie, and Christine Black. All enjoyed a cookout and eat-in.

The Barnett family celebrated Independence Day on July 6. The family celebrated the first birthday of Kaleb Siefkas, as well as the eighth birthday of Shainne Carter. There was a picnic and fireworks. Those attending were David and Jane Turner; David Turner, Jr.; Jess, Jared and Eric Barnett; Kathy Stimac; Terry Drennon; Kipp Barnett; Loren Barnett; Tammy and Ronnie Mooberry; Dameta Tullis; Ryan and Rhiannon Siefkas; Madison Smith; Paul and Lynn Heskett, Michelle and Isaac; Julia and Shianne Carter; and Thamar Barnett.

Jarbalo United Methodist Women met July 10. The meeting opened with the group singing “Trust and Obey” and a prayer by Pastor Larry Grove. Seven members answered roll call and reported 43 care calls.

The group made more plans for the upcoming Vacation Bible School. Faye Cleavinger had the program and read about wreaths and Christmas trees and a prayer, “People Living Free.” She served refreshments to Marilyn Oxley, Elaine Onasch, Frances Jeannin, Rosie Oelschlaeger, Thamar Barnett and Pastor Grove.
