Tonganoxie High seniors Jenny Whitledge, Madee Walker and John Lean will get to represent the Chieftains one more time on the hardwood when they play in the 2013 SHUKC All-Star game March 29 at Kansas City Kansas Community College.
Hullinger, Gish to play in games at Highland CC

McLouth High will be represented on the volleyball and basketball courts Saturday at Highland Community College, as seniors Kaitlyn Hullinger and Carter Gish have been selected to participate in the annual Northeast Kansas All-Star Games.
Rubio, Holloway win state powerlifting titles

The Tonganoxie High powerlifting teams wrapped up the 2013 season with a pair of top-five finishes Saturday at the Class 4A state meet in Abilene. The Chieftain girls took fourth with a score of 23 points, while the boys tied Abilene and Clay Center for fifth with the same score.

Call it fate. Call it luck of the draw. Call it whatever you want, but in the last 12 months, it’s been undeniable. Postseason success has come early and often for Tonganoxie High sports programs, and more often than not, it’s happened right here at home.

Basehor man gets prison time for trying to have wife killed

A 38-year-old Basehor man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for attempting to hire someone to kill his wife, according to a news release issued by the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri.
