Genesis Christian Academy students win at arts festival

Genesis Christian Academy students in grades 6-8 and high school participated in a fine arts festival April 12 at Blue Ridge Christian School.

Students entered art, photos, crafts, one-act plays and music selections. It was a great day for students to display their talents.

Winning superior (blue) ribbons were: Shelby Barta, flower arrangement; Annie McCleary, jewelry making; Paige Friday, jewelry making and vocal solo; Tobi Barta, portrait photography; Dylan Barnes, photoshop photography; Shelby Barta, portrait photography; Jacob Barta, photoshop photography; Quincy Smith, painting; Ashley Stieben, flute solo; and Annabelle Nill, piano solo.

Taking home excellent (red) ribbons were: Dylan Barnes, Shelby Barta and Jesse Smith, each in photography; Caleb Wacker, origami craft; Kristyn Trull, painting and photography; Jacob Barta and Tobi Barta, each in drawing; Evan Lynch, photoshop; Donna Bowen and Annie McCleary, each in crafts; and “It’s Great to be Stinky,” one-act play.

Students winning good (white) ribbons were Quincy Smith, Anabelle Nill (2) and Evan Lynch, each in painting; and Donna Bowen, crafts.

Earning honorable mention recognition were Paige Friday, crafts; Caleb Wacker, painting; and “Louisiana Bones,” one-act play.
