Humane Society offering spay/neuter transport
The Leavenworth County Humane Society will have its next pet spay/neuter transport is Thursday, May 16, and Friday, May 17, at 22650 Honey Creek Road, Tonganoxie.
The reduced cost program provides high quality care through a partnership with Great Plains SPCA Animal Medical Center.
The program is open to all Leavenworth County residents, including Fort Leavenworth.
Cats must weigh 3 pounds and dogs must be at least 16 weeks of age for full services. Package price for cats combines surgery, core vaccinations, microchip and parasite treatment as needed for $65. Package price for dogs is $95 and combines surgery, core vaccinations, microchip, and parasite treatment as needed. Feral (barn) cats are welcome; feral package is $25 for spay/neuter, core vaccinations, parasite treatment and ear-tip to identify the cat as sterilized.

The transport is just west of U.S. Highway 24-40 on Honey Creek Road south of Tonganoxie.
