Jarbalo Jottings

There was a 50-year year wedding anniversary celebration for Ronnie and Sharon Sample Sept. 8 at Jarbalo United Methodist Church. They were married in the church.

Thanks to everyone who helped with the community barbecue at the church. Jeff and Jeannie Furst provided entertainment.

David and Jane Turner went to McLouth Elementary School to celebrate Grandparents Day with their granddaughter, Sydney Turner.

Frances Jeannin and Kenny and Wanda Jeannin attended the Oelschlaeger reunion Sept. 7 at the community center in Bonner Springs, which was the old high school.

Gary Oelschlaeger took Orville and Rosie Oelschlaeger to a doctor’s appointment Wednesday. They ate at Flashbacks.

Jarbalo United Methodist Women met Sept. 11 at the church. Marilyn Oxley opened the meeting and Pastor Larry Grove gave a prayer. Roll call was answered and 62 care calls were reported. A slate of officers was presented by the nominating committee. It was voted in unanimously. They are: Marilyn Oxley, president; Faye Cleavinger, vice president; Frances Jeannin, treasurer; Rosie Oelschlaeger, secretary. The nominating committee will be Peachez Joles, chair, and Elaine Onasch.

The upcoming chili supper at bazaar, scheduled for Oct. 11, was discussed. Rosie had the program and she read several poems about aprons, and mentioned that aprons were mentioned in the bible. She also served refreshments to members Peachez Joles, Marilyn Oxley, Elaine Onasch, Faye Cleavinger, Frances Jeannin, Pastor Larry Grove, Thamar Barnett and guest Christine Black.
