THS baseball riding three-game winning streak
The Tonganoxie High baseball team made its way into the win column last Thursday with a 5-1 victory against Lansing.
Tyler Novotney had a big performance on the mound. He threw a complete game and gave up just one run.
The Chieftains put together a four-run third inning on their way to the victory.
Connor Wentz-Hall sparked Tonganoxie’s scoring with a 2 RBI double.
THS coach Mitch Loomis said Tonganoxie played just one game because of the number of injuries the Chieftains had.
A second game will be played May 4 in Lansing.
The Chieftains played a doubleheader Tuesday at Bonner Springs after The Mirror’s deadline. The team will be back home for a 4 p.m. doubleheader Thursday against Mill Valley.
Last Thursday’s victory improved THS to 1-4 on the season. The team now is 3-4 on the year after a doubleheader sweep of Bonner Springs earlier this week at Bonner Springs.
