University of Saint Mary to present ‘Babes in Toyland’
The University of Saint Mary theater program will spotlight a magical production and entertain a few thousand theatergoers next week with “Babes in Toyland.” The play is the 2015 edition of the university’s annual Christmas season theater production.
Saint Mary’s theater program will present several group and school matinees for hundreds of area schoolchildren, as well as two public performances, 7:30 p.m. Friday and 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Xavier Theatre on the USM Leavenworth campus, 4100 S. Fourth St.
The play weaves together many of the characters from Mother Goose into a Christmas-themed show. Follow Tom Tom the Piper’s Son and Mary Mary Quite Contrary as they set out to find the Toymaker and save their home from the evil Barnaby.
