Tonganoxie swimmer places at Sunflower State Games
A Tongie Tidal Waves team member placed in a handful of events at the Sunflower State Games in Topeka.
Lulu Myers-Arenth placed sixth in the 100 individual medley, seventh in breaststroke and eighth in freestyle.
The Sunflower State Games started July 10 and run through Sunday.

The 26th annual games originally took place in Lawrence, but moved to Topeka several years ago.
The Sunflower State Games have several events, including an adventure race, archery, baseball, badmitton, basketball, bocce ball, BMX, cricket, CrossFit, fishing derby, disc golf, darts, golf, handball, miniature golf, rowing, sailing, sand volleyball, soccer, softball, tennis, swimming, volleyball, track and field, wicketball and wrestling.
The event will run through July 26. The Games primarily take place during three consecutive weekends.
Each year, male and female athletes of the year are selected based on nominations.
Maria Seematter, 40, Marysville, was the 2014 female athlete of the year. The swimmer won three golds and a silver in 2014 and has won medals every year since 2007.
Jacob Bull, 22, Berryton, was the 2014 male athlete of the year.
He won gold in the 5K cauldron run and cross country. Bull has won gold every year since 2007.
Several events have concluded as the annual event heads into its final weekend for 2015.
Results have been posted for the 5K and 10K, adventure race, archery and target, baseball, youth basketball, BMX, bocce ball, competitive trail riding, CrossFit, gravel and road cycling, disc golf, foot golf, four-person scramble golf, horseshoes, indoor soccer, judo, martial arts, miniature golf, pickleball, racquetball, sand volleyball, sailing, trap and skeet shooting, softball, swimming, table tennis, tennis, track and field, volleyball and wrestling.
