Tidal swim win in Leavenworth

The Tonganoxie Tidal Waves swim team notched a team victory last Friday at Wollman Aquatic Center in Leavenworth.

Tonganoxie won the meet, 266-200.

“The rain held off and we were able to have meet on time and completely,” said Janet Falk, Tidal Waves coach.

The team again will be in action with a meet this Friday against Eudora at Tonganoxie Water Park. The meet starts at 7:30 a.m. and should run until 11:30 a.m. or noon.

In the 6 and younger freestyle relay, the team of Raegan McDermott, Laney Unruh, Sydney Kirchoff and Ava Barker placed first, while the team of Carter Bradley, Grace Weatherford, Macie Ruttan and Lainey Garner finished second. In the 18 and younger relays, the team of Jake Derzinski, Izzy Behm, Meagan Behm and Jon Derzinski placed second in freestyle and the team of Jon Derzinski, Ari Myers-Arenth, Luke Falk and Leah Stein placed second in the medley relay.
