City government organization hosts April voting contest

By Staff | Mar 10, 2015

The League of Kansas Municipalities is hosting a county and statewide contest to recognize the cities with the highest percentage of voter turnout in this year’s April elections.

The city in each county which has the highest voter turnout will be recognized within the Kansas Government Journal and on the League’s website. Three statewide winners from the 0-5,000, 5000-20,000, and 20,000+ population categories will also share the cover of a Kansas Government Journal.

Voter turnout is defined as the percentage of eligible registered voters who vote in the election. Winners will be announced at the League’s Governing Body Institute May 15 in Topeka. For more information about the contest, visit lkm.org or call 785-354-9565.
