McLouth advances to softball semis, faces unbeaten Chase County on Friday morning

By Shawn Linenberger - | May 28, 2015

McLouth is one step closer to a state championship, but its next opponent has bit of a winning streak going.

MHS improved to 20-4 on the season with a 6-1 victory against Yates Center, which ended its season at 19-5.

The Bulldogs struck early with a run in the first and then four more in the third and never looked back.

YCHS scored one in the fourth, but McLouth pitcher Shannon Greene limited the Wildcats to just two hits in a complete-game victory.

MHS now will face top-seeded Chase County, which is 24-0 and notched its 90th consecutive victory with a quarterfinal victory Thursday against Pittsburg Colgan. CCHS won, 9-0, against Colgan.

The two teams will play at 10 a.m. Friday at Green Sports Complex in Pratt.
