Plans for Tonganoxie’s Army Reserve center move forward
April 5, 2016
Plans for an Army Reserve center in Tonganoxie that would employ 11 and bring in 300 reservists are moving onward. Tonganoxie City Manager Nathan McCommon noted at Monday’s Tonganoxie City Council meeting that he recently received word from Army Reserve officials that construction of the center currently was up for bid and advertising would last until May 2.
Tonganoxie High Science Olympiad team state champs in small-school division

The Tonganoxie Science Olympiad team continues to be a powerhouse in the state. It also was 3 measly points from showcasing that talent nationally. THS was crowned the small-school division champion at state Saturday on the Wichita State University.

The area was abuzz on a beautiful Sunday evening. But Royals baseball wasn’t the only thing folks were interested in that night. Families Actively Strengthening Tonganoxie community workouts also started Sunday night with 33 people in attendance.
Tonganoxie school board begins superintendent search groundwork

Tonganoxie USD 464 board members made their first steps toward selecting its next superintendent. Chris Christman, consultant with McPherson and Jacobson, the firm the board selected the week before to perform its superintendent search, carved out plans for the superintendent search at a special meeting Monday. Board Members Kay Smith and Amelia Brusven were absent. Board clerk Audra Boone was in attendance with the board.
