McLouth FBLA nabs first at area competition

McLouth High School Future Business Leaders of America members placed third out of eight schools and McLouth Middle School FBLA members placed first out of two schools at a recent competition All participating students have qualified for the state FBLA competition on April 4 and 5.

High school results are as follows:

Jack Arnett, fourth in marketing and sixth in computer problem solving; Luke Berry, second in entrepreneurship, third in computer problem solving and sixth in cyber security; Tristan Funk, first in banking and financial systems, third in securities, fourth in business communications and investments and ninth in hospitality management; Shannon Greene, second in sports and entertainment management; Rylan Hellman, second in securities and investments, fourth in global business, fifth in economics, seventh in computer problem solving and 10th in introduction to financial math; Emily Jardes, first in entrepreneurship and job interview and second in global business, fourth in agribusiness and sixth in marketing; Jenna Johnston, fifth in introduction to information technology, sixth in computer applications, eighth in introduction to business and 10th in intro to business communication; Lichen McHenry, first in help desk performance, fourth in cyber security, ninth in help desk and 10th in accounting II; Zach Thomas, second in cyber security, third in banking and financial systems, third in business law, eighth in business calculations and business law; Haylee Weissenbach, seventh in word processing, ninth in intro to financial math and networking concepts; Jonah Willits, fourth in intro to business procedures and intro to parliamentary procedures; and Tanner Zink, fourth in securities and investments.

After-prom meeting

For parents who cannot attend tonight’s rescheduled after-prom meeting at the high school, there is contact information to get updated on the latest after-prom planning.

Dance clinic is Friday

McLouth High School Spirit teams will have a its 2016 Winter Cheer/Dance Clinic on Friday during the MHS girls and boys varsity basketball games.

Practices are 3:30-5 p.m. today and 3:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday in the school cafeteria.

Youngsters up to second grade will perform during halftime at the girls varsity game and third through sixth grades will perform during halftime of the boys varsity game.
