Tonganoxie City Council approves Topeka firm for City Hall, police station work

The Tonganoxie City Council has selected a Topeka construction company to do renovations to Cornerstone Family Worship for a new police station and the former Tan Time for a new City Hall. The council approved, 4-1, the low bid of The Osborne Company, Inc. $592,900, with alternate additions of $9,200 for City Hall windows and $6,000 for police shower.
Organizers hope Feast for First Responders gains steam in Tonganoxie

A few Tonganoxie residents who made a meal for first-responders hope the gesture will become a regular occurrence. The first Feast with First Responders dinner took place Feb. 19 at the Tonganoxie City Fire Station. Roughly 20 people were present, with representatives from the Tonganoxie police and fire departments and Leavenworth County Emergency Medical Service. Leavenworth County Sheriff’s office members also were invited to the gathering.
Residents brave elements for Tonganoxie Recreation Commission Easter Egg Hunt

Though the weather wasn’t the most ideal, youths and their families still turned out to collect 5,000 eggs at Saturday’s Tonganoxie Easter Egg Hunt. Brad Eccles, assistant Tonganoxie Recreation Commission director, said people still turned out for the annual event.
Kansas school aid debate raises tough issues for lawmakers
