The Brew to Brew run will take place Sunday and will go from the Boulevard Brewing Company in Kansas City, Mo., to Free State Brewery in Lawrence.

You’ll see a lot of runners as well as transfer vehicles throughout Linwood. Please watch out when driving.


Library seeking board member

The Linwood Community Library is looking for a new board member to finish out the term of a recently resigned member. There is one year left on this term. The board meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

Being a board member is a great way to help shape the future of the library. The board has the responsibility of making and directing the policy of the library, in accordance at all times with the Statutes of the State of Kansas. Its responsibilities include promotion of library interests, securing of adequate funds to carry on the work satisfactorily, and the administration and control of library funds, property and equipment.

Early childhood screening

There will be a free early childhood developmental screening for any children that currently reside in the Basehor-Linwood USD 458 or Tonganoxie USD 464 school districts.

The screening is 8:30-11:30 a.m. Friday. It’s for children ages birth to 5 years of age. You do have to schedule an appointment by calling 913-724-2348.
