Tree lighting Saturday

McLouth’s Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration will be 4-6 p.m. Saturday downtown in City Park. Enjoy free food, drinks and door prizes donated by local businesses and folks who want this to be a special occasion for the community.

Join in the Christmas caroling.

Santa Claus will arrive by fire truck. Everyone is welcome to bring their own decorated tree (real or artificial) beginning the day after Thanksgiving and have it ready to light on Saturday. Set up, decorating and removal will be the responsibility of the tree owner. If the weather is unfavorable, come to the warmth and comfort of the McLouth Firehouse for the fun.

The community will have a wonderful “Festival of Trees” when lit at dark.

If you have questions or would like to make donations, please call Mary at 913-796-6921 or Kim at 913-796-6411.

Concert scheduled for next week at USM

The public is invited to a free Christmas concert performed by the University of Saint Mary Community Band at 7 p.m., Tuesday in Xavier Theater on the University of Saint Mary campus in Leavenworth.
