Olathe man sentenced in Tonganoxie DUI case
Martin Patrick, 46, Olathe, was convicted by jury last week in Leavenworth District Court of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Sentencing will be 10 a.m. Jan. 4.
Evidence was presented that on May 25, 2013, an officer with the Tonganoxie Police Department stopped Patrick’s vehicle after observing the vehicle’s tires begin crossing the centerline of U.S. Highway 24-40 not far from the Leavenworth County Fairgrounds.
The vehicle was stopped and the officer observed indicators of impairment on Patrick exited his vehicle and the officer could smell and odor of alcoholic beverage coming from Patrick, and he admitted to consuming beer that evening.
Patrick performed standard field sobriety testing and exhibited indicators of impairment.
He was placed in custody, and transported to the law enforcement center for an evidentiary breath test.
