Tonganoxie High soccer takes 4-1 record into busy week

By Shawn Linenberger - | Sep 19, 2016

The Tonganoxie High boys soccer team is off to a strong 4-1 start that has included two overtime victories.

But this week’s hectic schedule will be a key one for the Chieftains, as the slate will nearly double the team’s number of games played this season.

Tonganoxie plays four games in five days this week, thanks to a combination of rescheduled and regularly scheduled matches.

Today’s game against Eudora (4:30 p.m. junior varsity, 6 p.m. varsity) at Chieftain Park is first, with Tuesday’s match at Baldwin (4 p.m. varsity, 5:45 p.m. junior varsity) is rescheduled from Aug. 26.

On Thursday, the team travels west on U.S. Highway 24 to take on St. Mary’s Academy at Riverside City Park in St. Marys (varsity only at 4:30 p.m.).

And on Friday, the team plays against Shawnee’s Maranatha Christian Academy (4:30 p.m. varsity, 6 p.m. junior varsity) at Chieftain Park.
