National speaker coming to Tonganoxie to discuss bullying with community A national speaker who specializes in addressing bullying will be in Tonganoxie this week for a community presentation. Joe Coles will come Thursday to Tonganoxie for a series of presentations. Coles will speak to students in all grades during the school day and then will give a presentation that evening for the public at the Tonganoxie Performing Arts Center.
McLouth High girls take 2nd at home invitational

The McLouth High girls basketball team finished second at its own tournament Saturday. The Bulldogs won earlier in the week against Kansas City Christian and Bishop Seabury to get to the title game. Against Cair Paravel, however, the Bulldogs just couldn’t get much going.
Tonganoxie selects newest city manager

Tonganoxie will have a new city manager starting March 1. City Council members unanimously approved George Brajkovic for the city’s top post following a nationally advertised executive search that spanned the past four months.

Valentine’s Day might be around the corner, but folks aren’t exactly cordial these days — at least if you take a gander at some Facebook posts and threads. Politics and elections can have that effect on people, but Tonganoxie High School students are working this week to remind people to be kinder to their neighbors.
