Final Tongie Tidal Waves laps or 2017

The Tongie Tidal Waves concluded yet another season with the league championships June 30 at Tonganoxie Water Park. Unfortunately, younger swimmers didn’t get to complete their league championship races because of inclement weather June 29. The Tidal Waves still at an awards night this past week. “It’s hard to imagine that our swim season has come to an end,” said coach Janet Falk. “However, all of the swimmers and families are excited and looking forward to returning next summer for another fun-filled season.”

The grass could be greener year round at Beatty Field in the coming years. Michelle Kuhns with Hellas Construction spoke to the Tonganoxie USD 464 School Board during its regular meeting Monday about artificial turf.
Tonganoxie High Science Club, FCCLA join forces to offer first Science Camp

Tonganoxie youths received a summer dose of science last month, thanks to Tonganoxie High School students. Science Camp took place June 26-30 at the Tonganoxie Communty Historic Site campus.
Tonganoxie USD 464 board names new president, vice president

The Tonganoxie school district has board leadership for a new year. As is procedure each summer, the board votes for a new board president and vice president. The 2017-18 president is Bryan Kemp and vice president is Amelia Brusven. Both were voted by unanimous 7-0 votes. Brusven nominated Kemp for president and then Kemp nominated Brusven for vice president.
