Chieftain softball lands 2 Tonganoxie players on Lawrence Journal-World All-Area Team

Tonganoxie again made the regional finals in softball under Stephanie Wittman. The team reached the championship after an uncanny seven-run rally for the 7-6 victory against archrival Basehor-Linwood before dropping a heartbreaker to Piper in the championship.
Tonganoxie USD 464 superintendent’s court appearance moved to August

Tonganoxie USD 464 Superintendent Chris Kleidosty won’t appear in Linn County District Court again until the middle of August. Kleidosty was scheduled to appear last week for a motion to dismiss the case, but there was a continuation and the appearance was rescheduled for 9 a.m. Aug. 7 in Mound City. The Tonganoxie school board placed Kleidosty on administrative leave with pay following his arrest back in February for alleged failure to report sex abuse at his former district, Prairie View. Kleidosty’s annual salary is $132,000.

Alissa Griffin likes to tszuj up a space and Tonganoxie has been without a floral shop the last few years. So, with the biggest holiday of the floral year approaching, Griffin opened Fun and Fabulous Floral and Gifts. She opened just a few days before Valentine’s Day earlier this year and continues to increase her business, especially with her flowers.
