Online enrollment for students in Tonganoxie USD 464 is open through Aug. 11. In-person enrollment is noon-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2. New THS student enrollment is 8 a.m.-2 p.m Aug. 3.
Applications avaialable for 2017-18 Southern Leavenworth County Leadership Development class

Southern Leavenworth County Leadership Development is taking applications for 2017-18. The organization, which is sponsored by the Basehor Chamber of Commerce and First State Bank and Trust, offers classes by academic year. The class generally meets the second Wednesday of each month from September through April, with a final project presentation in April and a graduation luncheon in May.
Leavenworth County Fair’s 92nd installment is this week in Tonganoxie

Fair Week has started in Tonganoxie. The Leavenworth County Fair started Tuesday, with the main event being the parade through downtown Tonganoxie. The horse pull at the Grandstand always is the main Tuesday night attraction at the fairgrounds. The fairgrounds will be buzzing with activities from morning until night each day through Saturday. Some 600 motorcyclists made their way down Fourth Street in Tonganoxie on Saturday. The cyclists spent part of Saturday in Tonganoxie during the Kansas City Poker Run Rally. The rally raised money for the Urban Youth Strategies center in midtown Kansas City, Mo. Roughly $30,000 was raised.
Tonganoxie High football alum going with tradition at Benedictine

The opportunity to play football at a tradition-rich school with an established coach sold Michael Mast on continuing his career at Benedictine College. “I think what stood out to me the most about Benedictine was the tradition it had there and more importantly, Coach Wilcox,” Mast said.
