May 3, 2017
Stephanie Wittman’s Tonganoxie High softball team no longer is undefeated, but a doubleheader split is the next best thing. The Chieftains are 10-2 after splits the last two weeks. Turner blanked THS, 5-0, in the first game April 20, but Tonganoxie won the second game in walk-off fashion, 3-2.
Tonganoxie tough at Butch Foster Memorial Baseball Classic, reaches title game for first time in school history
May 3, 2017
Tonganoxie High has participated in the Butch Foster Memorial Classic for several years. It’s been a chance for THS to play in an actual stadium, as the tournament always takes place down the road at CommunityAmerica Ballpark in Kansas City, Kan. Gilner was reminded of this and other stories Sunday during a reception for retiring Tonganoxie USD 464 faculty and staff in the commons area at Tonganoxie Middle School.
Tonganoxie school board rescinds contract extension for superintendent

The Tonganoxie School Board has rescinded a one-year extension to its superintendent’s contract as the school district’s top administrator awaits a jury trial for alleged failure to report abuse at a former school. Chris Kleidosty came to Tonganoxie nearly a year ago, agreeing to a two-year contract as superintendent. In February, he was arrested for alleged failure to report abuse in the Prairie View school district where he was superintendent before coming to Tonganoxie.
