Tonganoxie teams take on Eudora on Thursday in home opener for boys and girls

Tonganoxie enters basketball play Thursday with both the boys and girls teams coming off victories. The girls improved to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in Frontier League play following a 40-8 victory Tuesday in Kansas City, Kan., against Turner.
McLouth boys basketball still perfect at 3-0; girls get first victory

The McLouth High boys basketball team stayed perfect on the year, while the girls squad got in the win column with a convincing victory. McLouth won the boys game against Horton on Tuesday at MHS, 69-41. The Bulldogs have victories against Horton, Jeff County North and Horton so far this season.
Tonganoxie High powerlifting season to open in a few weeks

The Tonganoxie High powerlifting team has started practice, but its meets won’t be until the new year. The season starts Jan. 5 at McLouth. From there, they go Jan. 12 to Royal Valley near Hoyt. Jan. 26 is the Basehor-Linwood meet and Feb. 16 the team is at Horton.
Sample is finalist for KC metro football award

Tonganoxie High’s Cole Sample has been named a finalist for the Bell Award, part of the Thomas A. Simone Awards. The awards are given to various football players in the Kansas City metro area. Sample played on the offensive and defensive lines for THS this year. and helped guide the Chieftains to a 7-3 record that included a seven-game winning streak.2ff
Tonganoxie High wrestlers home Saturday

It’s time for Tonganoxie High’s first home competition of the season. THS will be host to the Randy Starcher Memorial Invitational starting at 9 a.m. Saturday. Teams coming to town for the longstanding tournament this year are Atchison, Eudora, Frontenac, Independence, Lansing, Louisburg and Shawnee Heights.
