City Hall will be closed Monday in observance of Presidents Day.
Library winter programs
There are about two weeks remaining in the Adult Winter Reading program at the Linwood Library. Completed reading challenge sheets must be turned in by March 2. To support the winter reading program, there will be two programs this month on Feb. 24.
A book discussion of “A Piece of the World” by Christina Baker Kline will take place at noon. Copies of the books can be checked out at the library. Following the book discussion at 1:30 p.m., there will be a baking program.
Registration is required to participate in the baking program. Participants will create a blueberry biscuit braid with lemon icing. For more details, you can visit the Adult Events section of the library’s website: linwoodcommunitylibrary.org.
Linwood seeking help
The city of Linwood is seeking people to fill the roles of assistant city clerk, assistant maintenance person and animal control officer.
The city also would like to find people interested in volunteering to be Planning and Zoning committee members. Anyone interested in the committee or jobs should contact the city clerk.
Council on Aging visit
The Council on Aging will visit the Linwood Library beginning Feb. 26 to offer free tax assistance to seniors over the age of 60.
Two additional dates in March will also be available. Some restrictions apply, and appointments have to be pre-scheduled.
