Tonganoxie High had a big weekend at the 17th annual Baldwin Invitational Tournament.

The Chieftains ranked No. 4 in Class 4A, placed second out of 16 teams, scoring 161 points on the day.

Holton won the tournament with 190.

Basehor-Linwood placed third with 130, just ahead of Burlington, which finished with 129.

There was a bottleneck from third to 10th place, as those standings were determined by 24.5 points.

Baldwin finished fifth (122), Santa Fe Trail sixth (116), Spring Hill seventh (115.5), Clay Center eighth (113), Louisburg ninth (108.5) and Prairie View 10th (105.5).

Eudora (11th, 90), Buhler (12th, 82), Goodland (13th, 81), Rock Creek (14th, 54), Wamego (15th, 42) and Osawatomie (16th, 31).

Korbin Riedel (138), Patterson Starcher (145) and Gad Huseman (152) led the Chieftains with individual titles.

Justin Hand (170) and Connor Searcy (195) both placed second.

Here’s a rundown of Chieftains who placed and how they fared in the final round:

At 106, Hunter Harris placed sixth, losing to Louisburg’s Thad Hendrix, 13-6.

Korbin Riedel, at 138, defeated Goodland’s Dawson Ensigns, 11-5, for first

Patterson Starcher (145) defeated Louisburg’s Ryan Adams, 7-0, for first.

Gad Huseman (152) Caleb Osborne form Clay Center by a 9-8 decision for his title championship.

At 160, Baldwin’s Scott Harman defeated Caden Searcy, by 4-0 decision. Searcy placed sixth.

Basehor-Linwood’s Jon Trowbridge defeated Justin Hand, 13-1. Hand finished second at 170.

Gavin Ware of Clay Center defeated Tonganoxie’s Connor Searcy by a 4-3 decision. Connor Searcy placed second at 195.

At 220, William Harris placed eight after falling at the 4:40 mark to Santa Fe Trail’s Caleb Harmes.

Also at 220, Brent Caray defeated Keegan McDonald for fifth place.

The Chieftains have a big dual this week.

Tonganoxie takes on Bonner Springs at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the THS gymnasium.

Bonner Springs is ranked No. 3 in Class 4A.

It also will be Senior Night.
