Tonganoxie police make arrest on felony warrant

Tonganoxie police made an arrest early Thursday near 12th and Shawnee streets. Police arrested the person about 3 a.m. Thursday for an outstanding felony warrant. Chief Greg Larson said he couldn’t comment on the arrest because there is an active ongoing investigation with regards to the arrest.

Body camera video shows an officer handcuffing a black man who was attempting to move a large-screen television into his new Kansas home in the dark. The Kansas City Star reports that 61-year-old Karle Robinson said, while watching the video, “If I’d been a white man, you know that wouldn’t happen.” He was in handcuffs for eight minutes.
Tonganoxie High cross country continues 1-2 punch; regional sites announced

Tonganoxie High cross country is continuing its pattern. With the exception of the Rim Rock Classic, the boys team has won every meet and the girls have been the runner-up. On Thursday at the Perry-Lecompton Invitational near Lake Perry, the boys again took first.
Season marches toward final meets for Tonganoxie High girls golf

The Tonganoxie High girls golf team placed sixth last week at Village Greens golf course. Meghan Heskett placed 15th individually , as she shot a 100 on the day. The team competed again Monday in Garnett and will also compete Monday at Falcon Lakes Country Club in Basehor.
