Myer is a Leavenworth County Agent with Kansas State University Research and Extension. The topics of Myer’s chats vary from month to month, but they all stem from her family and consumer science background.
Leavenworth man sentenced in stabbing case

Andrew Joseph Housworth, 41, Leavenworth, was sentenced Friday to more than 13 years in the Kansas Department of Corrections for one count of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, a severity level 4 person felony.
Leavenworth man sentenced in animal cruelty case

Lemuel Hunter Jr., 59, Leavenworth, Hunter was sentenced for a misdemeanor charge of animal cruelty for singeing a dog’s whiskers with a propane torch. The incident was reported Feb. 19, 2018, at an apartment in downtown Leavenworth.
Local man to be sentenced in October in contraband case

Haskell Lewis Jr., 66, Leavenworth, pleaded guilty Wednesday, Aug. 14, to attempted trafficking contraband into the Lansing Correctional Facility.
