- A postseason college soccer match featured two Tonganoxie High alumni playing against each other earlier this month.
Matthew Perich, a freshman defender for Kansas Christian College, went up against Isaiah Frese, a freshman forward at Manhattan Christian College.

- Thanks to Tonganoxie students, the food pantry at Good Shepherd has 11,000 more canned goods to help feed those in need.
Tonganoxie Middle School accumulated 4,000 cans during a recent drive, while Tonganoxie Elementary School amassed nearly 7,500 cans.
As part of Mayor Jason Ward’s annual food drive challenge, the TES class to gather the most canned goods gets to help Ward turn on Christmas tree lights during the Mayor’s Tree Lighting ceremony festivities in the downtown pocket park.

- Tonganoxie Public Library is embarking on a capital giving campaign to fund furniture and furnishings at its new location.
The drive, which is starting this week, is aimed at raising about $175,000 to cover the estimated costs of those items through the Tonganoxie Public Library Foundation.
