Brusven places 2nd for Chieftains as Tonganoxie girls golf takes 3rd at first meet

Tonganoxie High girls golf opened the season earlier this week at Dubs Dread. THS placed third as a team and had its highest-ever finish by an individual at the tournament in the process. Morgan Brusven placed second in the tournament. The next competition will be Monday in Ottawa.
Tonganoxie High volleyball splits season-opening matches

Tonganoxie High volleyball opened the season with a loss against Spring Hill, but bounced back with a win against Sumner Academy in a triangular Thursday in Kansas City, Kan. Spring Hill defeated THS, 25-8, 25-20, in the first match, but the Chieftains responded with a 25-15, 25-16 victory in the second match. Tonganoxie is back in action this coming Tuesday when Paola visits THS.
Tonganoxie High soccer ties Maranatha

Tonganoxie High soccer played to a 1-1 tie with Maranatha Christian Academy on Tuesday in Shawnee. The season continues Sept. 12 with a 6 p.m. match at Paola. Tonganoxie’s next home match is 6 p.m. Sept. 17 at home against St. Mary’s Academy at Beatty Field.

Tonganoxie High marks a new era Friday when the THS football team takes its home field. It will be the first game on the new artificial field turf for the Chieftains, who started playing football at Beatty Field 65 years ago.
