- McLouth High School will wrap up homecoming festivities The homecoming parade will start at 2:15 p.m. Friday, with a pep rally and other activities, including tug-o-war among classes to follow after the parade at Stan Braksick Sports Complex.

- Art in various forms will fill downtown Tonganoxie this week with this year’s edition of the Plein Air Art Festival.
The festival starts Thursday and runs through Sunday. Much of the festivities will be in the downtown area, with fine art vendors, street performers, food trucks, glass-blowing demonstrations, plein air artists, youth art activities and a visit from members of the Crossroads Mazda Miata Club highlighting the event. There also will be street performers at the festival, with most activities taking place Saturday.

- Leavenworth County had 178 active cases as of Monday, along with 194 community recoveries since the last health department report on Sept. 20.
Tonganoxie has doubled its number of active cases during that time, while Basehor saw a decrease. Tonganoxie was at 28 active cases Monday, up from 15 on Sept. 20. Basehor was at nine, down from 23 a week before. Leavenworth dropped from 105 to 43 active cases, while Lansing went from 30 to 28.
