Fred William Leimkuhler 1921 - 2010
Private burial will be in Wild Horse Cemetery, McLouth, for Fred William Leimkuhler, 88, Tonganoxie. A celebration of life ceremony will take place at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie.
Mr. Leimkuhler died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Tonganoxie Nursing Center.
He was born March 14, 1921 in Quindaro, the son of Fredrick M. and Mary E. McNaugton Leimkuhler. He was united in marriage to Martha Duncanson on Aug. 15, 1942, in Tonganoxie. Mr. Leimkuhler retired in 1986 as head groundskeeper at the Linda Hall Library, Kansas City, Mo. He was a member of the Stanwood Friends Church, Tonganoxie.
Survivors include his wife, Martha, of the home; daughter, Lynn Paul, Tonganoxie; son, Paul Leimkuhler, Shawnee; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Tonganoxie Historical Society or to the Leavenworth County Humane Society, c/o Quisenberry Funeral Home, P.O. Box 993, Tonganoxie 66086.
