Services for Ruth Hendon, 96, Lawrence, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at Cornerstone Southern Baptist Church, Lawrence.
Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be in Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie.
Mrs. Hendon died Jan. 10, 2010, at her home.
She was born Nov. 8, 1913, in Ozawkie, the daughter of Benjamin and Melissa Hittle Werst. She was united in marriage to Floyd M. Hendon on Feb. 20, 1952, in Lawrence. He preceded her in death Oct. 8, 1990.
Survivors include her son, Donald Riley, Bakersfield, Calif.; one brother, Herbert Werst, Lawrence; three sisters, Sarah Mullins, Topeka, Nancy Prock, Plainfield, Ind., Miriam Barnhart, Ellensburg, Wash.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
