Jamie Marie (Royal) Knipp 1916 - 2008 Basehor

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. today, April 23 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Basehor for Jamie Marie (Royal) Knipp, 91, Basehor.
Burial will follow in Bonner Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Knipp died Sunday, April 20, 2008, at the Bonner Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Dec. 29, 1916, in Hardin County, Iowa, and had lived in the Basehor area for the last 36 years, most of her retired life. For most of her life she helped maintain the family farm as a homemaker and farmer's wife and later in life worked at several area nursing homes. She had been a long-time member of the Glenwood E.H.U. and had served as its treasurer. She was a member of the Holy Angels Catholic Church since 1972. She enjoyed painting, ceramics, sewing and a had a great love for country music. She especially loved canning and gardening for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, William F. Knipp, in 1979 and two children William C. Knipp in 1999 and Helen L. Knipp in 2004. She is survived by four sons, Donald J., James W., Gary V., and Larry M. Knipp all of Tonganoxie; one brother Willis J. Royal of Santa Rosa, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Holy Angels Catholic Church Building Fund.
