Alve C. Beach 1920 - 2008 Tonganoxie
Funeral services for Alve C. Beach, 87, Tonganoxie, were 11 a.m. Thursday, April 24 at Village West Assembly of God, 2205 N. 102nd, Kansas City, Kan.
Internment followed in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kan.
Mr. Breach died April 20, 2008, at Leavenworth VA Nursing Center, Leavenworth.
He was born July 22, 1920, to Don C. and Crystal (Harrison) Beach. He was a World War II veteran serving in New Guinea, Southern Philippines, and Luzon. He was Staff Sgt. 316th Quarter Master of the U.S. Army. Mr. Beach worked for Armour Packers as a butcher for 23 years. After retiring he went into business as a contractor specializing in water proofing and drain tile with his wife. Mr. Beach had Parkinson's disease for 19 years. He was an assistant pastor for 13 1â2 years in Climax Springs, Mo. He was a member and the young people's leader of Victoria Tabernacle, now known as Village West Assembly of God, where he also served as a Sunday school teacher and deacon. He served the church and the Lord all of his life.
In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his great-grandchildren, who made him laugh. He also enjoyed fishing, traveling, and going to the Ozarks.
Mr. Beach is survived by his wife of 68 years, Aletha Beach of the home; two grandchildren: Johnny Smith, Overland Park and Jaime Smith, Tonganoxie; and 7 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a daughter and four brothers.
