Louis Whitford 1918 - 2008
Services for Louise Whitford, 89, Tonganoxie, were Monday, Feb. 25, at Quisenberry Funeral Home in Tonganoxie.
Mrs. Whitford died Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at Tonganoxie Nursing Center.
She was born Feb. 23, 1918, in Oak Grove, Mo., the daughter of Oscar and Laura Davis Bedsaul.
Mrs. Whitford was a homemaker and a member of West Haven Baptist Church in Tonganoxie.
She married Jack Whitford on Oct. 3, 1959, in Kansas City, Mo. He died March 7, 2001.
Survivors include four sons, David, Spring Hill, John, Lee's Summit, Mo., Chester, Greenwood, Mo., and Richard, Liberty, Mo.; a daughter, Shirley Boone, Houston; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care Quisenberry Funeral Home, P.O. Box 993, Tonganoxie, KS 66086.

What’s the best way to spend a snow day?
Shovel your driveway and paths, check neighbors’ driveways and then grab all your closest little ones and find the biggest sledding hill. Snowmen also are a must. Snow days are a great time to catch up on missed shows and much-needed rest. I love snowdays, they haven’t changed one bit even as an adult, although I am sure not all working adults can say that, but I am happy I can. I was excited to see the snowmen and other snow sculptures throughout the Lawrence and Kansas City metro areas.
